Estherville Maniece School

This school has been in Estherville for as long as we can remember, and it was, according to our memories, named after Margaret Maniece. Ms. Maniece taught in the Jackson School in Estherville for 41 years and also served as principal during some of this time. The building is located next to the new high school (we consider it the new high school even though it was built in the mid 1960's) and is now the home of the Headstart Program. When we were growing up in Estherville this was a K-4 grade school. Our copy of the book Esther's Town tells us that the school was constructed at a cost of $220,000.
