Another heavy rain last night, three inches this time, messed up our plans for outside work on the shed today so instead I worked on the counter tops for the shed cabinets. The formica has a dark granite pattern and made a nice addition to the shed. As you can see Sandy began moving in today while I finihed up the counters and the electrical wiring. The picture below shows the fixture I installed the other day and you can also see the small fan on the right side that will move a little air on the hot days in the shed.

I also worked on a different project while I was waiting for the glue to dry on the counters. This post is going to be the control center for the landscape lighting that will be installed in Sandy's flower garden. I used a pressure treated 6 X 8 that I had left over from another project and covered it with rough sawn cedar. There is a hollowed out portion in the post that will accept the low voltage transformer and it will be covered with a removable panel. There are also wireways up each side of the post for the primary and secondary wiring. The post will be about 42" above the ground line and the top will feature a glass gazing ball.
