Our Philipsburg, MT Trip - October 2013

The second day of our kitchen installation went as well as the first. The weather was a repeat of yesterday so we were able to work on parts of the project outdoors without getting cold. After unloading most of the trailer to clear room for moving the largest of the cabinets we got the refrigerator/broom closet installed. This cabinet is a full 8' tall and leaves plenty of room for the refrigerator.

With the large cabinet in place we moved to the upper cabinets that wrapped around the corner and over the sink. Then it was time to remove the temporary sink and counter and install the base cabinets.

We had great luck applying the laminate to the counter top that Dan constructed in the shop in Mason City. This piece required a 5' wide by nearly 7' long piece to make it a seamless installation. The edge of the counter is walnut instead of being covered with laminate.

We wrapped up work about 6:00 PM as Sandy and Gary began working on dinner. Sandy took her turn on dinner, a pork tenderloin on the grill, fried potatoes, and steamed carrots. Tomorrow will see us install the final cabinet and begin work on the doors.
