Estherville Packing Company

Estherville Packing Company was sold to Tobin Packing Company and was later sold to John Morrell Company. This business provided many residents of Estherville with a good job over the many years it was in business. It was opened in 1936 as a beef processing plant. It was sold to John Morrell in 1954 and two years later opened a pork plant as well. The plant eventually closed in the early 1980's following many attempts to keep it operational in the highly competitive packing plant industry.
